I work in dots, in lines, and in the time it takes to put them down.
Each drawing begins as a single mark on a sheet of cotton paper and grows inward, stippled by hand over weeks, often months, with a rapidograph and a small forest of replacement nibs.
Alongside the pointillist works I make etchings, drawn into zinc and bitten in acid, and ink drawings on smaller sheets. Each piece is one of a kind: no prints, no reproductions.

How a sheet becomes a piece.
Most pieces begin as a single line on a sheet, then become weeks of stippled dots, an acid-bitten zinc plate, or a small forest of rapidograph nibs that need replacing.
The photographs are from the work-in-progress shelf in Plovdiv. You can usually tell which week a drawing was begun by how much ink is still on the table.
